Abstract

The 10 species of Cybocephalidae occurring in Mexico are revised. Included are redescriptions of Cybocephalus aciculatus Champion, Cybocephalus schwarzi Champion, and Pycnocephalus metallicus Sharp, and descriptions of four new species: Cybocephalus beverlyae, Cybocephalus championi, Cybocephalus huastecus, and Cybocephalus zakotus. The male of P. metallicus is described for the first time. A key to species; illustrations of morphological features, including detailed drawings of male genitalia; and distribution data are provided. © 2007 Entomological Society of America.
