Abstract

The Yegrin theatre company broke ground in 1960s South Korea through the production of original Korean musicals. Though it produced commercial musical theatre, Yegrin enjoyed government subsidies. After two decades of various incarnations, the company was incorporated into the state-run Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul.
