Abstract

Experience and know how gained by Philips in analytical instrumentation and data processing formed a natural springboard from which pollution monitoring control activities could be launched. In this article dealing with Philips' approach to pollution monitoring control, the author highlights the company's air pollution monitoring systems. This topic is introduced by discussing the various philosophies necessary for certain applications. The author then shows how those philosophies have led to the development of a turnkey project capability and concludes with brief descriptions of typical systems that have been installed.
