Lignum's Innovative Resource Management Area (IRMA) is a 620,000 ha area surrounding Williams Lake. IRMA, which was granted to Lignum by the provincial government in 1997, is one of potentially six programs being set up around British Columbia to put into practice the most advanced forest management and intensive forestry techniques in the world. Through IRMA and other programs, Lignum shows its commitment to sustainable forest management.
