Abstract

The contribution of the neutron scattering in the radio-graphed object to the point spread function CP.S.F.) was calculated using the MORSE-CG Monte Carlo Code. The calculations were performed for a wide range of materials, thicknesses and object to film distances covering, neutron radiography geometries of practical interest. The Monte Carlo results were compared to analytical calculations based on a single s~attering model. Least square fitting methods were used to calculate correction functions to the analytical results by adapting them to the more precise Monte Carlo values. In this way continuous analytical functions were obtained which enable easy interpolation within the range of E a , 1::s' thickness and object to filB distance covered by the Monte Carlo calculations.
