Abstract

AIDS knowledge, attitude, sex practices of the adolescents, youths, and adults, if studied synoptically within these groups, and utilized, can help to sensitize the whole public and the policy makers on the dangers, extent and means of preventing the spread of the deadly disease in a country. These following survey findings indicate that despite the Kenya government's policy of silence on AIDS, due to economic factors, the disease is spreading in the country. This is evidenced by the adolescent-youth-adult awareness of the disease, and their knowledge of self-safety and other precautionary measures. Another important finding shows the identification and patterns of target groups in planning and resources utilization for the AIDS effective educational programs. © 1991, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
