Abstract

The term « coparenting » designates a situation where the father and the mother are not or no more living together but are raising their children within their two homes. In this paper, based on testimonies gathered from 12 gay fathers raising their children in co-parenting and 6 men planning to do so, we will explore the motivations to choose the co-parenting, the path to realize this choice. We will examine the impact of co-parenting on conjugal life and try to understand how some co-parenting settings lead to inextricable situations.
