Abstract

Provides a Relational Frame Theory analysis of self-directed rules, first addressing the concept of self before integrating it with the concept of rules. The authors discuss the overlap of self-directed rules with problem-solving and show that self-rules often involve self-knowledge and the construction of private events. The problem of privacy in the experimental analysis of self-rules is also considered. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved) (from the chapter)
