Abstract

The present paper aims at reflecting on the role of weblogs in fostering employee's creativity. After having reflected briefly on the relationship between creativity at work and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), we present a typology of organizational weblogs, and finally we propose some preliminary considerations on weblogs as both opportunity and obstacle to employee's creativity. In particular, the present paper aims at presenting challenges, opportunities and risks, in terms of employees freedom and self-expression, involving in blogging. A following section is devoted to understanding doocing and recommendations for setting blog policies. The paper ends with the formulation of some research questions and with the articulation of future research agenda on such a topic. © Springer-Verlag 2011.
