Leaves and Flowers Amethyst mountain empirically has been used as an anti-asthma or bronchodilators. From the research that has been done (Ita Nur Anisa, et al) that the Amethyst mountain leaves has a bronchodilator effect at a dose of 25 mg / kg bw and acute toxicity test results amethyst mountain leaf aqueous extract caused 60% mortality in experimental animals at a dose of 5000 mg / kg b. To obtain more specific information, then tested teratogenic to see fetal abnormality that occurs due to the provision of substance during embryonic development or organogenesis phase, including abnormalities of the body outside, soft tissue and fetal skeleton. The test is performed in vivo in experimental animals. Water extract of leaves of amethyst mountain (Brugmansia suaveolens Bercht & Presl.) Given to pregnant female adult rats at a dose 23.77 mg / kg bw, 95.0 mg / kg bw and 950.5 mg / kg bw during organogenesis in the oral phase of the day 6 to day 15 of pregnancy, then dissected rats on day 20 of pregnancy. Giving a dose of 950.5 mg / kg bw caused a decrease in the average weight of the parent on the H-20 pregnancy and cause a decrease in the number of fetuses as well as giving all test doses causes a decrease in the average weight of the fetus. The decrease was statistically significant difference between the control group with the test dose group (p <0.05). All doses used had no effect on the fetus and cause no physical abnormalities in the soft tissues and the number of fetal skeleton.
