Abstract

Language learners’ lack of the skill to form questions can be a serious source of frustration. Their awareness of this deficiency not only impinges on their self-esteem but also negatively affects their conversational fluency and effectiveness. The present chapter argues for the need of empowering learners through developing this particular skill. It also postulates that its early development enhances learners’ communication skills and helps them to communicate successfully. Consequently, interrogatives are regarded as an important concern in language teaching.
