Abstract

Some authors (Harvey & Newton, 2006) argue that quality no longer bears a relation to the core activities of universities. Quality assurance processes are becoming bureaucratic processes and compliance structures, increasingly removed from the academic concerns that lie at the heart of quality in higher education.
