Abstract

In this volume, we focus on mediation in interpersonal conflicts between employees who occupy equal or different hierarchical positions. Often, mediations focus on two parties involved in the conflict. However, most people work in teams or small groups, and therefore both individuals and teams are impacted by conflict. Workplace mediation has to take into account this organizational setting. A related key question is: to what extent is the conflict taking place between two individuals, or are also other colleagues involved? Such team conflicts have specific dynamics compared to conflicts between two individuals, and therefore also ask for different ways of mediation.
