Aluminum air battery is considered as a promising battery for portable power and for large scale energy storage. In this battery, electrochemical reaction taking place on the anode is the aluminum oxidation and on the cathode is the oxygen reduction reaction. The output cell voltage is the potential difference between the cathode and the anode. This study uses half-cell to measure the reaction rate of aluminum oxidation and oxygen reduction in different alkaline solutions.
