Abstract

This contribution deals with issues regarding alarm management at the operator workstations of industrial automated systems. It is focused on the Object Oriented Programming techniques and data acquisition from controlled processes provided for the human machine interface of these systems, the possibilities to configure the monitored variables of the processes and their parameter definition. It shows the different aspects of decision making over the options for using system functions in applications of operator environments on concrete examples. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2014.
