The impact of health information delivery on the quality of patient care: whither medical information science? *

Abstract

The various ways in which the modern hospital library can support clinical decision making by providing current information to users in a quick and cost‐effective manner are discussed. The role of the library in continuing education and the importance of demonstrating the value of its activities through quantitative evaluation are stressed.
