Abstract

We present a behavioral theory of linear systems described by differential equations involving matrices of rational functions. Representations of controllable and stabilizable systems that are left coprime over the ring of proper, stable, or proper stable rational functions are discussed. These representations lead to effective parametrizations of the set of stabilizing controllers for a plant. © 2008 Springer London.
