Abstract

In view of the challenges encountered in the study of the disability system design and the physical and psychological particularity of the disabled, this paper presents a social - technical system design framework for people with disability. The framework is a whole system design process which includes from data collection to behavior analysis, from system design to model mapping. The innovation of this work lies in the following aspects: this framework is used to closely combine social and technological contents at both social and technological levels, to extract design principles based on the new findings of people with disability. It maps the design model of the system based on the theory of social-technical system design, and to obtain the system log and observation data of disabled representatives using the participatory design method. This framework was designed and implemented several service systems for people with disability. It already has more than 1000 disabled users and collected several hundreds of thousands of data.
