Abstract

Aging is a natural event which is particularly noticed in facial skin. A combination of a gradual loss of youthful tissue integrity and the force of gravity produces a condition which is difficult to reverse [1]. Chronological aging is additionally worsened by aggressive sunlight, which changes biological tissue architecture and skin texture, attributable to exposure to short, blue A and B ultraviolet radiation wavelengths [2]. The above factors accelerate the loss of the skin's structural condition [3]. Among the methods, protocols, and apparatus aimed at correcting facial aging, to complement the basic techniques of aesthetic surgery and to improve successful results, simple procedures carried out with lasers can help to remodel or rejuvenate the signs of aged skin [4].
