Abstract

We describe turbidimetric methods for simultaneously determining C-reactive protein and orosomucoid in 33 μL of undiluted serum in the Technicon RA-1000, with multipoint calibration. Precision is good and results correlate favorably with those of nephelometry with the Beckman ICS (r = 0.98 for CRP, 0.99 for orosomucoid). Analyses are easy to perform, required infrequent calibration, and are suitable for routine and emergency analysis.
