Abstract

Tetrakis[di-(ert-butyl(methyl)siiyi]-1-disilagermirene readily reacts with benzaldehyde to form the new strained bicyclic compiounds: mono- and bis-adducts, depending on the reaction conditions and the ratio of the reagents. The usual [2+2] cycloaddition pathway is accompanied with the subsequent isomerization and insertion reactions. © 2002, by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co. All rights reserved.
