Abstract

Rehabilitation of injury in extreme sports athletes involves consideration of injury etiology, pathology, tissue healing, pain mechanisms, and reconciling athlete-specific functional deficits with sport-specific requirements. In this chapter, rehabilitation of common acute and chronic extreme sports injuries will be outlined with an emphasis on progressive exercise, sports-specific rehabilitation, and return to sport considerations.
