A new proposal of multi-functional liquid level meter

Abstract

In this paper a new proposal of multi-functional liquid level meter is presented. A new structure sensor called as multi-functional parallel-plate capacitor sensor with four electrodes has been developed. By detecting three capacitance values, the liquid level and permittivity of this liquid and inclination angle of the container are determined at the same time. In this process three theoretical formulas have been obtained and used as tools. The outcome of this research proves that proposed sensor can be used to estimate the liquid level, the permittivity and the inclination angle in some conditions at same time. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
