Abstract

....our knowledge of arachnid silks is very scant and fragmentary. However, extensive and continuing studies on the silk-producing organs of arachnids over the last 10 years might renew the interest of specialists in the various fibrous proteins synthetized and spun by these remarkable animals. Silk-producing arachnids belong to three orders: mites, pseudoscorpions and spiders.
