In the world of qualitative research, especially in nursing studies, phenomenology is a powerful method to analyze the meanings of individual and contingent experience. The concept of Phantasieleib (from Marc Richir) explains the function of the phenomenological method when applied to empirical data. When the Phantasieleib of the phenomenologist can enter into the movement of a certain narrative, a kind of phenomenological reduction begins. This phenomenological analysis reveals the composition of his/her practice within its inter-subjective and institutional contexts. All aspects of the grammatical character of the narrative can be a hint of comprehension of this composition.
