Abstract

Emergency management of central nervous system malignancies is an unfortunate reality facing the oncologist. Although expeditious treatment is certainly the cornerstone of management, the astute clinician should carefully weigh a combination of multidisciplinary therapeutic options to ensure optimal outcome for the patient, with an eye toward both treatment sequelae and anticipation of future need for further treatment. © 2006 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
