Abstract

© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA Numerous fragments are formed during the fracture of the as-studied Fe-based metallic glass. Both the predominant brittle fracture feature and the vein pattern showing some ductile fracture features are formed in the fracture surfaces. This indicates that both shear fracture and fragmentation can occur in the same Fe-base metallic glass.
