Abstract

Collaborative learning is the most effective method to develop language proficiency among students at various levels in a more relaxed atmosphere. Different methods of collaboration can be done among the teachers and learners to execute effective learning among low language proficiency students. This paper highly focuses on the collaborative teaching done among the students where the trainer will be the proficient students and the learners will be less proficiency students i.e. the peer collaboration through discussion and activities, wherein a group of teachers will define the roles and responsibilities of the trainers. Thereby education is done through conversation in a relaxed ambiance rather than the stereotypical method. This article will also elucidate some pedagogical suggestions for setting the teaching strategies for effective learning. Through the peer collaboration the learners have a greater scope in understanding the cultural change, wide knowledge about reading and writing blogs and other ways of on-line communication, various other current trends in language and everyday communication and socializing. All the above knowledge will certainly help them in developing their interpersonal skills, teamwork skills and critical thinking that might be helpful from their placement point of view. Humor is also used as one of the best strategies to provide best relaxed positive learning atmosphere.
