La linguistique cognitive et ses applications (?)

Abstract

Dans cet article je me penche sur les fondements théoriques de la linguistique cognitive telle qu'elle a émergé à la fin des années 70 ou début des années 80 dans les universités californiennes, puis j'essaie de voir quelles applications on a pu en proposer sinon en tirer notamment en didactique des langues étrangères. Mon parcours est à la fois historique et contemporain, puisque pour finir je rends compte de la dernière grande publication sur le sujet : Cognitive Linguistics : Current Applications and Future Perspectives, qui est le premier volume de la nouvelle collection « Applications of Cognitive Linguistics » \(2006\).First, this paper deals with the theoretical foundations of Cognitive Linguistics such as it appeared in the USA at the end of the seventies or the beginning of the eighties, particularly in Californian universities \(Berkeley, San Diego\). It then attempts to identify the propositions – if not applications– that have ensued, notably in didactics of foreign languages– and cultures. Finally, it reviews a collective volume, Cognitive Linguistics: Current Applications and Future Perspectives, which is the first issue in a new book series «Applications of Cognitive Linguistics» \(2006\).
