Abstract

General proficiency (GP) plays an important role in a student’s career. It reflects the overall development of students. Calculation of general proficiency is itself an important task as this must be based on the overall performance of a student. The general practice of assigning general proficiency marks depends on facultys’ jurisdiction and varies from place to place. In most cases, crisp logic is used to evaluate GP. To deal with vagueness in different opinions, we introduce a fuzzy logic model for the calculation of the general proficiency of students. The proposed method considers various parameters in a proper way. The usefulness of the proposed method is shown through an example.
