Abstract

There are a variety of biological samples that can be collected from participants in longitudinal studies. Here we outline those that are particularly useful in longitudinal birth cohort studies starting in pregnancy, and discuss their advantages and disadvantages. © 2009 Blackwell Publishing Ltd.
