Abstract

First attempts to define the character of estuarine environments in terms of their hydrodynamics. The mixing of fresh and saline water is discussed in relation to the development of predictive models. There are short sections on sedimentation and geochemistry. Concludes with a discussion of the sensitivity of estuarine biology to the oscillatory environmental conditions which pertain. -M.Day
