Abstract

Fever occurs frequently in hospitalized patients. This teaching script enables the teacher to guide learners through evaluating a patient with fever and developing a differential diagnosis for common infectious and non-infectious causes of fever in the hospital setting. It outlines the diagnostic approach to identifying the most likely etiology in this patient population and suggests initial management steps.
