Abstract

Web analytics tools, e.g., Google Analytics, have an Event Tracking function, which tracks users’ behaviors such as clicks and keystrokes on web pages. It enables the administrator of a website to analyze a user’s behavior in detail. However, some users are unhappy with Event Tracking in terms of privacy. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a countermeasure against Event Tracking by analyzing JavaScript and HTTP requests on web pages.
