Abstract

More than 50% of pregnant women have anemia worldwide. The causes of anemia and pathological forms in pregnancy are con-sidered. True iron-deficiency anemia is most common in pregnant women. Clinical anemia manifestations, pregnancy complica-tions, and methods for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of anemia in pregnant women are described. The pregnant women should be long treated with iron preparations. When iron stores are restored in the body, the women should take iron-containing drugs, Vitrum Prenatal forte in particular, for 6 months.
