Abstract

In this paper we compare the performances of different variants of split-spectrum algorithms and propose some new extensions based on the use of variable bandwidth filters equally spaced in frequency and energy gain equalized. Signalto-Noise Ratio Gain factor was selected as the figure of merit to make the comparisons among the different methods. We will show the results obtained with our design after the analysis of new steel alloys. Frequency Multiplication recombination method is revealed as the best option when combined with the new extensions. © 2012 American Institute of Physics.
