Abstract

This is the entire reason Quarkus exists: to serve your microservices needs, to slake your lust for a microservice framework that doesn’t take 30 seconds to start, to whisper sweet serverless nothings into your cloudy ear… OK I’ll stop now. We’re not going to go through too much of the rudiments of microservices in Java. After going through this chapter, you should gain an understanding of how to build a standards-based microservice using the Quarkus framework. If you’re considering a migration of an existing service to Quarkus, you’ll get an introduction to how to support some of the core microservice functionality, features, and configuration options you’re probably already used to.
