Abstract

Multi-mode resource-constrained project scheduling algorithm is widely used in project static planning. However, in collaborative product development projects, human is a kind of special resource in contrast to the technology resource which should be considered separately. Starting from this point, this paper introduces the designer-task-resource matching matrixes into the multi-mode resource-constrained scheduling model. The mathematics model of the problem was formulated and solved using a genetic algorithm. A case study was illustrated based on the model. The result shows that the method can obtain the minimum project duration by allocating most suitable person and resource to the task under the constraints of task relations. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
