Abstract

In this present investigation, the electrospun PVDF-CNF material was embedded between the top layers of conductive laminates which is carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) in order to improve the multi-function property. In this study, the manufactured specimen was characterized in two ways, namely material characterization and mechanical characterization. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used for material characterization in order to determine the dispersion of CNF with the polymer and the crystalline structure of polymer, respectively. Mechanical characterization is done in two ways, namely tensile incremental–decremental loading and three-point bending test in order to determine the sensitivity of material during loading conditions, and initialization of damage to the materials was analyzed.
