Abstract

Clients in rehabiliation vary greatly in their cognitive and functional abilities. Education must be individualized for each client and family. Clients and families also differ in their abilities to cope with disability and their available resources to adapt. An interdisciplinary rehabilitation team is essential for effective goal setting, delivery of education, and evaluation of such programs so that the client and family are prepared for self-direction and self-care.
