Injectable and malleable hydrogels promise to advance the in vitro culture and clinical administration of cell-based therapies. In article number 1803087, Shaoyi Jiang and co-workers introduce a versatile strategy to create highly biocompatible viscoelastic hydrogels by exploiting dynamic fusion interactions within poly(carboxybetaine) microgel assemblies. These zwitterionic injectable pellet (ZIP) constructs can form on-demand stem cell culture scaffolds and protective injectable carriers.
