Abstract

Dissimilar metal welding technologies in the modern industries including the automobile, airplane, chemical plant, electronic components are placing stringent demands on the manufacturing techniques and performance requirements, and the manufacture employs the high quality and efficiency dissimilar metal welding processes to produce welds. Hybrid Laser-GTAW, friction stir welding, ultrasonic soldering, electron beam welding, friction stir spot welding processes, etc. will play an important role in the fabrication of automobile, airplane, chemical plant, electronic components, and this has led to an increasing attention in the use of dissimilar metal welding technology. This paper covers a recent technical trends of dissimilar metal welding technology which is based on the published research works in the 'dissimilar metal welding' obtained from the KISTI's database, Web of Science System, and deals with the details of the background data of the dissimilar metal welding technology. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
