Abstract

Testing laboratories rely on a broad array of standards from sources such as regulatory bodies, analytical test methods, and materials to ensure the reliability and trueness of their test results. In the cannabis testing industry, one of the most common standards is ISO/IEC 17025. This chapter will provide a general overview of the most common laboratory standard, intent of several clauses within the standard, and discuss some of the more egregious risks to laboratories. Included will be more detailed description of a laboratory's Quality Management System and its major components, and discussion on some of the more challenging issues common to laboratories testing cannabis.
