Surgical evaluation of the upper airway is essential in appropriately diagnosing and locating the possible site(s) of obstruction in patients with OSA. Upper airway obstruction can be attributed to anatomical variances in any or multiple aspects of the upper airway, extending from the nares to the larynx. This chapter will focus on the thorough surgical assessment of patients with OSA, including patient history and questionnaires, a focused clinical exam, endoscopic evaluation, and radiographic imaging.
