Abstract

The impact of climatic change on food production, water supply, energy use and other human activities is likely to be too considerable to ignore. Scientific research has a part to play in assessing how society might respond constructively and effectively to these forms of environmental change. Innovative efforts are required to ensure that time is not wasted in deciding, well in advance, the optimal response to the changes anticipated. -J.Sheail
