We consider the relations between cellular automata and spatial machines. Spatial machines have been introduced as a bridging model for parallel computation in order to replace PRAM. We propose here a parallel simulation of cellular automata by a family of spatial machines. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 1999.
