Abstract

Thirty seven diverse sites of the Marrakech Region (Morocco) were investigated fornightly or monthly over one year. Two factorial correspondence analyses demonstrated the similar typologies; one of them was based only on the environmental factors, the second one on the biotic parameters (133 Desmid taxons). It is concluded from these results that, the Desmids seem to be good biological indicators for evaluating the chemical water quality in South Morocco. © Masson, 1990.
