Abstract

The experiments in farming described in this book represent new social forms of agriculture under the name Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). CSA is a community-based organization in which consumers provide direct, up-front support for the local growers who produce their food. Most CSA farms are organic or biodynamic farms and show a high level of diversification. The book discusses social, economic, environmental and other benefits of CSA and describes several successful CSA farms in the USA. It also includes basic information on how to start and run a CSA.
