Abstract

The Erlangen Voice Scrambling (EVS) system, built for testing and demonstration, is presented. The idea of time division multiplexing is to permute the speech signal in the time domain. One speech segment, in this case 600ms, is stored and divided into n parts (in this case 8) called blocks, which are permuted. Blocks of 75ms were chosen. The EVS system consists of a sender, a receiver, and an eavesdropping line. Selection of permutations, and experimented results are presented.
