Repeated neurological examinations should be performed as part of the monitoring of the neurological dysfunction in the neurointensive care unit, taking into consideration the pharmacological treatment of the patient. Deteriorations should be correlated to changes in the supplementary physiological monitoring, and together these observations should guide clinical decisions.
